Maybe I don't feel like writing 1,500 words about a single album. Maybe I don't want to take ten years getting through a band's studio catalog of six albums. Here in the Discography Deep Dive, I write up and rate a band's entire studio output in one post and only get down to the bare, most important details! We're talking BLURBS, man! BLURBS! Eventually every album will still get its own formal review some day. Maybe. Since I plan on living forever, you know.
It doesn't matter if the band has one or ten or 500 studio albums, every band, artist, collective, group, cult, mob, horde, rabble, and/or swarm is eligible for a Discography Deep Dive. Besides infrequent special considerations, I'm sticking with studio albums only. No live albums, EPs, mini-LPs, splits, bootlegs, boxsets, compilations, samplers, reissues, remixes, demos, or singles! Maybe mixtapes. Maybe covers albums. Maybe soundtracks. I haven't decided yet.
Every album gets its own rating on a scale from 0 - 10. If you are following closely you may notice that the numeral rating for an album will largely correlate with the "subjective" rating given for the formal reviews. This was intentional. I have a very well-thought-out system.
I fully intend to update any page with new albums that may have been released since their respective pages were published. These pages will also include dated edit notes in the introduction.
